This primary school was completed in February 2013. It was funded by elementary students from Buckingham Elementary and Butler Elementary schools in the Central Bucks School District (Bucks County, Pennsylvania). It has three classrooms, an office and a storage room for supplies. The overall objective of the project was to increase children’s access to education and improve the quality of education in the Volta Region. Prior to VIDA building a primary school in this community, students age 5-7 did not have a school or classroom to shelter them from the sun and rain. This project will immediately increase attendance and create learning opportunities for school age children. VIDA partnered with DIVOG to complete the construction of the school.

Volunteer involvement in the construction of the school will help build the spirit of community service and volunteerism among future generations in this community. For more information on this project please contact Kate Sonnie at ksonnie@thevida.org
